Multiples

When it rains...

I had cramps and back pain last night and into this morning so my MFM's office told me to come in even though he was out today. They did an ultrasound and discovered that I have a chorionic separation from the uterine wall. I have a follow up appointment on Monday and Friday of next week. On top of that, while I was there I did the glucose drink and blood work. I just got the results back: I failed so I need to go back for the 3 hour test AND I have mild anemia so they called in an iron prescription.

I'm not as concerned about the last two pieces as I am about the first. It appears to be really rare (it's not the same thing as an amnio-chorionic separation) and the anxiety before my follow up appointment with my MFM next week is killing me.

We tried for 5 years to have these babies. I'm only 26 weeks pregnant with my little twins at this point and I'm just praying everything will be okay and that I can carry them full term.

Re: When it rains...

  • I'm sorry you are going through this.  I'm not familiar with what chorionic separation is, but I'm glad to hear you saw your dr.  I would take it easy this weekend and if anything feels more off, know that you can go to L&D for monitoring.  I'll keep you and your babies in my thoughts and prayers.
