WOW, i saw this article on another board and thought i'd share...deff will make me more aware of who has their hospital ID tags on when they take the baby!!! Although, that still seems weird to me...how the heck did she get IN the maternity floor? at our hospital you have to get buzzed in as soon as you get off the elevator on the maternity floor!

Re: Baby kidnapped from hospital!!!
Moral of the Story for me:
I or my Husband will be with our baby at all times in the hospital.
First Child born
5/5/14 and 6/5/14
11/14
Chemical Pregnancy
9/5/15
Second after severe bleeding for 18 weeks due to subchorionic hematoma
Expecting Number 3 due 10/31/2020
In my hospital, you can't cut off a baby's ID tag without sounding alarms and ward doors locking, nor can you take an IDed baby within 10 feet of an exit without alarms sounding and doors locking. Also, all babies room in with their mom.
How does that happen?!?!? My hospital is crazy in Maternity. You have to be buzzed in, on an approved list to be there, and the mom and baby and daddy all wear the same bands. The only people allowed out of the room w/baby are mom & dad (or nurse of course) and if the baby gets too close to the doors on the maternity floor is makes this terrible buzzing noise.
There is no way babies are getting switched or taken at my hospital, how aren't all hospitals doing this?!?!
Here's the article if anyone wants to read more...

I'd sue the fluck out of that hospital.
With our first two kids, we never let them out of our sight...if a test needed done at 2am, my husband got out of bed and went. Our kids slept in our room the whole time. It will be the same with this little girl. It's just not worth the risk, regardless of policies a hospital has in place!
