severe incisional pain at 7 days pp?

i had my second c/s last friday and a week later i'm having extreme pain on the right side of my incision when i do any type of physical activity.  i can't stand or walk for more than five minutes before i buckle over in pain and want to cry.  i called my doc's office and she is on vacation, but the nurse just told me to keep taking my meds and see how the weekend goes.  this is so different from the first time around, and i'm really worried something is wrong.  has anyone else experienced this?

With my RCS I had some of the pain you are mentioning but not quite to that extreme.  I want to say it occurred within the first 2-3 days I was home so right around the 7 day mark.  My mom, who is a nurse, and I could only guess that I was overdoing it.  I had her help as well as DH's, but with a newborn and a 3 year old I was more active this time around.  The first time I felt it was about 5 days after while standing in Target - we had run their after DS's first or second bili test.  I immediately had to leave.  The next few times it occurred at home.  With rest and pain meds it went away.

  • At 7 days PP, I was still in a lot of pain. I found that moving too much made it much worse.

  • I would suggest taking it very easy. Yes, it is good to move around some, but for the most part you should be resting. And take your meds. What and how often are you taking your meds?
