I'm 35 weeks and I have nothing ready. Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of stuff, but nothing is set up. We had to do some construction to get the house ready and it just finished yesterday. So, DS's room is not painted, his furniture is not put together, I have a lot of his stuff but I don't even know if I have all of the things that I need because I have been just buying things and stacking them in a laundry basket with no where to put them. I need to be able to lay everything out and take inventory, but I have nowhere to do it. With DD I delivered at 38 weeks and this time around, I am at an even more increased chance of delivering early due to medical issues (GD, bicornuate uterus, high fluid level). And to top it off we have to be away labor day weekend all weekend and it's not negotiable (Family wedding out of town, moving my husband's oldest daughter into college). So now we are going to lose more time that we could be preparing things, plus having to travel 12 hours in the car. Ugh!
Thanks for listening. I'm going insane and I'm sitting at work on light duty not getting anything done in my house and clearly getting alot of work done (lol).
Re: Anyone else feel like nothing is ready? (Vent)
Nothing is done, for real, in my case. We're moving from WI to CO about 11 days after the baby arrives, and her nursery is currently an empty room in our new house out there, while we're living at my parents' lake house up here with very little baby gear. Honestly? I don't really mind. If I learned anything after bringing the first two home, it's that they just don't need much at first. We have a Rock n' Play for her to sleep in, a PNP for back up, a car seat, and a small pile of clothes/blankets/bibs washed up. We've got a box of diapers. I'll wash the bottles next week. The rest will all be fun to do when we get to our new house - I can't wait to decorate the nursery and hang all her clothes and make it all pretty - but I just don't feel the pressing need to get it all done this time.
Don't stress. As long as baby has something to wear, something to sleep in/on, and a way to be fed ... you're good.

LO's nursery consists of sub flooring, 2x4s and insulation - oh and a framed closet. That's it. haha. We're hoping to be done with his nursery by Christmas. But he'll be in a bassinet in our room for about three months anyway so we're not worried.
Do you have a place for baby to sleep? Diapers? Clothing? Car seat? Bottles if you're using them? Wipes? You're good to go!

DH is still working on LO's room so I broke down and bought a pack 'n play today to use until LO's crib is together since the doc was talking possible induction this week if my bp doesn't start cooperating. We have a carseat, clothes, diapers, and boobs so the necessities are taken care of. Like the other pp's said, make sure you have those few things and you are set.
