peaked on 2nd tri board and was enlightened!

LOL so the thread was about boobs leaking already. At this point i never thought anyhting of it and didnt think i was having leakage. But many women talked about having "dry skin on nips" and was told by their doctors it was actually leakage thats dried in the cracks!! Who knew! lol I too have been experiencing this odd "dry skin." Learn something new every day!!

Here comes FTM who is going to sound very naive...

Really?  You can start leaking in the 2nd tri??  I just thought that would happen afterwards.  Good lord, please don't do this to me!  It's bad enough I have turned into Teen Wolf lately!

LOL!! I too am a first time mom. I do plenty of reading so I knew that by end of second trimester your milk should be full in. Now as for the leaking before baby is born it hadnt even occured to me until I saw that thread! like I said before.."ya learn something new everyday."

It's actually a really good thing.  Breast milk is pretty much the best skin moisturizer and conditioner ever created (it's also an amazing antiseptic, but we can get into that later).  If you notice you're leaking, absolutely rub it into your nipples bc it will help condition the skin, which might help prevent some of the cracking that can happen during the early days of BFing.  I never had any cracking or discomfort and I think it's possible that all the BM helped.

What she said, exactly. I can't wait for my milk to come back in. It dried up around 8ish weeks.

Yes, absolutely.  And if you are breastfeeding, rub some milk onto your nipples and let it dry after feedings.  This will help naturally protect from cracking, etc. I've even put breastmilk into my son's stuffy nose, and on his bum for diaper rash.  That stuff really is liquid gold. :)

I didn't have noticeable leaking during my first pregnancy, but I did during my second.  It was more during the mid to late second trimester when it started.  I noticed it mostly if I was cleaning the house in my pj's and hadn't put a bra on yet.  I would get wet circles on my pj top.  I'm hoping I don't leak that much this time around.

  • I started leaking a bit at 16 weeks last pregnancy and A LOT by 17 weeks, so I have been wondering how it will be this time.  I need to gets some pads to have on hand just in case!
