well im asking cause i live in alaska and my family in in new mexico, i havent seen them for quite some time. Im planing on going down when i find out what im having, so my question is when can you know for sure what your having. this is my first baby and imm also quite excited to know

A very skilled tech with a very cooperative baby can make guesses around 12 weeks (angle of the dangle - both sexes have a "nub" at that point - a girl's will be parallel to the spine, a boy's will have a 30 degree angle or more away from the spinal direction - see https://www.baby2see.com/gender/external_genitals.html)

We got our positive ID of two boys yesterday at 15w2d - both boys are have very obvious, prominent, and defined penises at this point LOL so there was no question about it. With a good tech and baby in the right position, I think you can probably find out any time now.

I would not trust anything before at least 17 weeks. I had 2 ultrasounds prior to that, and they swore they saw girly parts. Needless to say at 18w4d it was clear as day that it was a little boy.

I was a high risk pregnancy with my first so I was pretty much living at the OBGYN, I'm not sure if mine was early, but I found out in the beginning of 4 months.....kinda early, they did double check later on.

We found out at 16 weeks and it was VERY obvious we are having a boy!

We found out with DD at 14w2d, she was cooperative and the tech was 100% sure. We told family that we were fairly certain we were having a girl, but still didn't start buying any girl stuff until it was confirmed at the anatomy scan.

I saw LO at 11w and didn't see her again until almost 21 weeks so I'm not sure but at 14w I wouldn't run out buying pink or blue.

I found out at 16.5 weeks and was very confident with what they told me (it's since been confirmed at our 20 week).

With my first, the tech offered to guess when I was 11w6d and said it was a boy. She turned out to be right, but from a lot of things others have said since, it sounds like she may have just been lucky. It did look fairly obvious to me at the time, though.

We found out at 16 weeks. I'm not sure I would trust anything sooner than that (of course some people will probably disagree with me)

15 weeks they told me it's a girl. She was VERY confident and showed me her three little lines. Our a/s is on Tuesday and they will confirm.

Hey sister!

I found out at 15 weeks and 2 days that I was having a girl. I had always heard wait between 16-20 weeks but I got lucky!!

I had to have an emergency bedside u/s at 14.5 w and the doc guessed boy. It was confirmed at my almost 19w a/s. From what I have read until about 15w the two genders look essentially the same. I wouldn't base any announcement on any scan earlier than 18w, but that is just me.

14w3d and it was extremely clear we were having a boy. I had an additional u/s at 15w3d and today (18w3d) that all said it's still a boy!

For my first pregnancy, I found out at almost 16w and it was correct. This pregnancy, the ultrasound tech made a guess (boy and girl again) at 14 weeks. My DH and I haven't told anyone yet and of course we will get confirmation on Tuesday and again in 2 weeks for my anatomy scan.
