Adoption

We are having a boy!

Found out at my anataomy scan were having a boy!

I was sure it was a girl but so dead wrong....The AP's got to come with me and they were really excited and the entire day was just amazing.

I am a little sad though I wasnt expecting them to pick a name so quickly and i felt a little sense of grieving. I guess thats normal.

Your grief makes sense at any milestone like this. Have you met with a counselor yet, or will that come later?

  • I meet with a counselor about every two weeks with the agency im working with and then also started to see an outside party just to get a diffrent perspective. It was very exciting to have them at my ultrasound and share that with them it was reassuring to see the love already in their hearts. Its exactly what I needed to see and feel  :)

Very exciting.  So glad you had the AP's there.  I am sure they are over the moon.  So wish the BM I am matched with lived closer to be able to go to an appt like that.

  • Awe- sweet baby boys!

I'm so glad to hear your getting counseling!  Grief is a totally normal feeling to process, and to be honest, I think I'd be more worried if you weren't feeling it at least a little.

    Congratulations to all of you!

  • Very exciting! Hope you got some ultrasound pics to keep. I have one of just my birthson's foot and a profile one where it looks like he's waving :). I still remember hearing "it's a boy!"

That is so nice that you were able to share that moment with them. Wish I could have done that with my birthson's parents. Unfortunately by the time we met, I had already had my ultrasound.

Sounds completely understandable to feel some grieving when the name is picked. For me, It was a little bittersweet when they picked his name. I encouraged them to do so and was glad when they did since I could then call him by his name instead of calling him "the baby", but yeah it was one of the many bittersweet moments of the journey.

  • Boys! So cute!

I hope you are able to find any peace in these moments, as bittersweet as they are.
