Regarding the BM that contacted us that is nearby and 8 mths pregnant, we finally had a phone conversation last night and talked for an hour and a half. I can't believe how comfortable I've been on the phone with these BMs; I thought it'd be so awkward.
She actually has been looking for APs for several months but is a little picky and hasn't found the right one. She hasn't officially picked us but I think our chances are pretty good. She said she felt really comfortable and positive about speaking with me and would let us know what she decides. The downside is that she has never had an u/s or appt during this pregnancy, so that makes me nervous. I tried to get her in for an u/s but it's very difficult at this point in her pregnancy. i spent 3 hours, literally, making phone calls and even my attorney agreed it's a difficult situation. The good news is, is that she is a mother of 3 healthy children and she said the baby is very active so we are hoping that everything is fine. My attorney reminded me that back in the day, we didn't have this kind of technology so I think I'm okay with not being able to do an u/s. It's just so weird because we don't have a due date, know the gender, or even if there might be multiples in there!
I am so anxious about this possibility, I can barely sleep, I don't have much of an appetite, it's crazy! But of course I'm beyond thrilled at the idea of having a baby in just a couple of weeks!
Re: Phone Call with BM #2 Went Great!
That is very exciting, it sounds like the call went really well! It is a little different to have no due date, gender, or even confirmation of number of babies but it's also kind of neat too. Like your attorney said back in the day they didn't do ultrasounds - although they probably had doctor's appointments and knew if it was multiples.
I'm glad you were so comfortable and I hope this is your match. Keep us posted, that would be a super short wait for you, so that is awesome!

DSs BM had no pre-natal care either and he's as perfect as perfect can get. I know it seems scary, but that's when you just need to evaluate if you are ready to take a risk. DH and I trust God with our lives and we had been praying for this child longer than BMs pregnancy. It's amazing, because all our prayers were answered.
Good luck, I hope you get good news soon!
She is perfectly healthy :
Good luck!
I wouldn't sweat the prenatal care... as great as it is to have it, it's not uncommon in adoption to have birth moms w/no prenatal care.
DD1's birthmom hid her pregnancy until 7 months so no care until that point.
My only concern, and your lawyer has probably addressed this, do you have proof of pregnancy?? There are plenty of stories of cruel people that pose as Emoms. I'd just want proof of pregnancy before I went any farther... and a picture doesn't count as proof since it could have been taken previously Or it might not be that person.
Sorry to be Negative Nelly.... better safe than hurt though
