Bedrest and/or Pre/e Mamas

So my BP has been decent today [my urine was fine yesterday]. I've been on bedrest since last Tuesday. I've literally been laying on the couch for over a week now and I'm uncomfortable and when I sleep at night so I can tell I'm clenching my teeth. So today I have a lingering headache. I've taken Tylenol and its not helping but its never actually worked for me pre pregnancy. It's really not a bad headache at all but it is a headache. I really think its just from being horizontal and jacking up my neck and clenching my teeth at night. But just to calm my little bit of anxiety, do you get headaches from laying around all day?

  • Yes I do. I'm not even on full bed rest and I do. I have a raging one right now.

However, if it doesn't go away...you still may want to see, Mrs. Bedrest Lady.

Haha I KNEW you'd tell me that :] I'm hoping to see how some rest does for it tonight.

  • Yes, if I sit too long or lie down too long, I get tension headaches.

Disclaimer: Totes not a doctor. :)

  • Can you get a mouth guard to help you from clenching your teeth at night?  DH has one which helps him out tremendously.

I had a 600 dollar one my puppy destroyed. Store ones make me gag.

  • Make sure you are switching from end to end on the couch. Also try and not lay with your head on the armrest even if you have a pillow.

  • Yep I get them too when I lie around too much and don't do anything.  Try to stay hydrated and maybe move from couch to bed to chair periodically.  I'm *technically* not supposed to go for walks, but I have to take the dog out at least 3 times a day.  So we just walk slow and don't go too far from the house.  The fresh air does help.

  • When I was on full bed rest I got really bad headaches. I had to start getting up for them to calm down. I was that pregnant electric cart lady at WalMart lol. But just getting up and in new positions and smells helped so much. I also would do like little arm exercises while during my sitting up time and stretching my neck real good. Just keep the blood flowing nicely.
