M finally had her top two teeth come through last week. She got the bottom two at six months, and then we went nearly another six months with no other teeth in sight, until last week. The top two are just through, and they look like they have a pretty big gap between them. Will her teeth possibly shift closer together as the others come in?
My second concern is that I recently noticed a small build-up on one of her bottom teeth, either tartar or plaque I'm thinking? It's just slightly yellowish in color, I actually thought it was a tiny bit of food stuck to her teeth. I've tried rubbing it off with a wash cloth and her toothbrush with no luck. I'm still nursing, so I see the inside of her mouth up close several times a day, so it was weird because one day there was nothing and the next day this build up was there. Has anyone seen anything like this on their LO's teeth?
Re: Two questions about teeth
Thanks, ladies, I am not overly worried about the gap, just wondering if anyone else had one that minimized when the other teeth come in.
I think I'll call her pedi tomorrow and explain the other issue and ask if they recommend that we go see a pediatric dentist.. It's weird, I don't think it's decay because the tooth isn't discolored. It's more like there is something stuck on to the tooth. Hopefully if it is just build up it can be easily polished and removed by an expert. We brush twice daily, but she is a wiggle worm during the process, so maybe a dentist can give me some tips on how to do a better job. Thanks!
