Well, the cnm agreed with me that determining chorionicity is important. Not important enough to.do do much about it in any sort of hurry though. The mfm next door does the u/s and they referred me for an u/s appointment for probably next week.or the week after that. And maybe just because she is not the ob, but i didn't like some.of the answers she gave me. She did say they let you go.full term if you get there (and she meant regular full term of 40w) and nothing about nst. I really want all my care to go to a mfm entirely, but they seem to be a bit like Oz the Great and Terrible in that it is a freaki g impossibility. I even showed her my earliest u/s pic whrre they are clearly in one sac, but she said you could not tell anything from that. I don't know what to.at this point other than move to a different state. At least i will eventually get an u/s to determine chorionicity. I really do not.know what i can possibly do. I am.actually contemplating faking an emergency...although i really really reLly disagree with that ob so many levels....i

I am so sorry you are having to deal with all of that!!! HAve you read Dr. Luke's book by any chance? I highly recommend it, especially given the fact that it seems like you are going to have to bear the brunt of your own prenatal care, since your doctors kinda sound like idiots.
20lbs sounds like absolute bull to me. My own personal goal was to basically gain a pound a week, and I think I remember Dr. Luke being along those same lines (24 lbs by week 24 or something). Also, she says that your goal is to put on the weight earlier on, because you need to build up some reserves for down the road when your stomach has absolutely no room for food, etc.
Anyway, I really recommend that book. I have an awesome OB who never let me down, and I still thought it was a great resource.
Hang in there!
That's what I did, but not with my first MFM, who I didn't like. But at 22 weeks, I switched. Hopefully you can too.
