TTC after 35

So excited about mucous... LOL

Ok, so how odd is it to be excited about my mucous discharge??...  I just went to the bathroom to ck out my discharge & was so excited to see that I finally have clear eggwhite that is stretchy (like I have read & seen in pics).  I never had experienced anything like this (I was on the BCP for about 20 yrs (am 42 now) & only went off BCP 3 mths ago).  I have had eggwhite, but not stretchy eggwhite :)

We BD last night - I guess the hubby is in for another fun night tonight... My chart seems a bit whacky compared to last months, but who knows...

Re: So excited about mucous... LOL

  • It is an odd world we TTC'rs live in, isn't it?  Try telling anyone else about such an exciting thing and they would think you had lost your mind.  lol.
Me: 40 Dh: 41, TTC since August 2009, began Acupuncture and Herbs Sept 2011, began Temping and Charting Nov 2011. image

  • Had a very similar reaction this month when I experienced the ovulation trifecta - EWCM, a very positive OPK, and a clear temp shift all at the correct time.  Usually I am lucky to get two out of three happen around the same time.  Love it when my body finally seems to being doing what it's supposed to.  No one else but you guys would probably understand how cool that is!
Me 39 & suspected PCOS, DH 42. Went off BCP when we got married in 11/11, seriously TTC since 3/12.  Six cycles of clomid = BFNs.  Suspected endometriosis & HSG showed both tubes blocked.  Sept 2013 IVF 5D transfer of two perfect embryos = BFN.  Started acupuncture and taking time off to drop some pounds & get healthier before FET in April 2014.
  • It is just so funny - most ppl would think we are nuts...  I texted my dh & told him about the mucous & how excited I am that my body might be truly ovulating this month.  He told me "wow that is great news".

Today is our 2 mth anny & I told him, besides wedding cake (we are eating a pc a month every month for the 1st yr) - guess what your are getting tonight???...   LOL

Robbensm: I am hoping for the trifecta too - maybe a temp rise tomorrow morning..

  • Robbins, I don't think I have EVER had all three at the same time. I'd be thrilled too!

And Qzees, you are braver than I am - I have never told my husband about my mucus... he knows that when I get a smiley face on the opk it's time to bd a few more times and then wait, but that's about it. I think the mucus would totally kill it for him, and as it is I feel like I'm the horny teenage boy in the relationship these days, lol.

  • LOL - the funny thing is that poor DH had no idea that women have discharge almost daily...  Forget the word mucous - he almost died when we first discussed all of this.  I think he is on board now, I wrote him an email explaining things as cut & dry and now it is like we are jack rabbits LOL.  He can just touch me walking by & I am like, ok, lets go... Surprise

  • I got my temp rise this morning.  Not much of a rise - .3 points - but a rise :)  Does that count...??  I would like to think of it as a trifecta...

I still have a positive on my OPK.  I just started using them, when do you stop?  Will it stay positive from here until either pregnancy or AF and I am wasting the tests?

  • I never get a positive more than two days in a row, sometimes only one. But some women might get positive for several days. Regardless of how many you get though, you'll ovulate sometimes within 36 hours of the first positive (at least that's what mine says in the instructions) so once you get a positive it doesn't matter how many more you get after that, no need to keep testing.
