My son has progressed wonderfully without a developmental pedi. While i think it's probably helpful in ways, it's not necessary. I think a lot of it will depend on the severity of your child's condition as well. If I had a 3 year old who was nonverbal and therapy wasn't helping I'd probably push more to go vs a less severe delay, KWIM?
You can certainly continue w/ the current therapy program without the intervention of a Dev. Pedi.
At some point it may be needed to have an actual diagnosis and thats where a dev pedi can come in - especially if you are seeking therapies that insurance will pay for.
