New :)

I have just starting posting on the TTGP boards and found this one! My husband and I have a beautiful 5 year old daughter who was born severely disabled. She was born without the majority of her brain. Because of this she ended up with hydrocephalus, CP, Cortical Vision impairment, she is non mobile, non verbal, etc... When she was born we were told if she survived she would never move or smile - and I have to say, her smile is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen and her giggle is contagious! We went through YEARS of genetic testing and decided to take the leap :) I look forward to getting to know some other parents of extraordinary kiddos :)

  • Hello and welcome!

I see that you are taking Clomid to induce ovulation. Are your doing ultrasounds to monitor follicular development and make sure you have development on on your left ovary? Are you getting +OPK each cycle?

I'm a fertility nurse, so sorry to be nosy about your TTCing.

  • Hello and welcome! DS2 has CP and the person who did DS2's craniosacral therapy had a child who was missing most of the their brain also. I look forward to seeing you around the board!
  • Hello!!

My daughter is missing about half of her brain. She has Schizencephaly which is sometimes confused with CP and a lot of times hydrocephalus can be present at birth. We were told the same thing, that she may not live or ever even hold her head up on her own. She is 10 months and is starting to crawl!!

Welcome and happy to have you!!

  • Hello! Yes I am having U/S monitoring, and have only developed follicles on the left so far - which is great :) I have been getting +opk's around CD 18-19. We will be trying IUI if this cycle doesn't work. Hoping it's not needed! And don't apologize for asking!
