What are some little tips and tricks you have to help your blended family run as smoothly as possible?

For example: I have a special folder where I put all the notices and things to go to BMs house.  I pull all the copies the teacher sends home (I ask for 2 of everything at the beginning of the year) and stick them in the folder.  Then on BM's Fridays I put it in SDs book bag.

    very good idea! we have a bag that is sent back and forth and things go in there.

    My DH makes sure anything official, appointments, important, etc... is discussed through emails so that nobody can ever go back on what they have said and its an easy way to go back and remind yourself of something.

    We have a "mom bag." which is a laundry bag. Any clothes they wear from her house goes into her laundry bag. That way i can keep track of BM's clothes.

    When my SD comes EOW, Thurday at bed time I take her clothes she had on and wash them. I put everything down to her shoes and hair ties in a bag. Sunday after dinner she puts the clean outfit back on and goes back to her mom. Since we don`t share clothes, it`s nice to have everything in the same spot so Sunday we are not looking for it.

    our routine is similar except since BM doesn't get kids until 8pm from us on nights they go back, they bring pajamas with them and have those on to go back but i also wash all clothing to go back and they put back on underwear/socks with shoes that they wore over and all hair items, accessories, etc go back in bag too. I don't want us losing our things so i respect that she wouldnt want us keeping hers either.

    We use Google Calendar to keep track of my older DDs activities, school functions, trips, etc. so that both her father and I know what's going on. We each just add stuff as it comes up and will text the other to give a heads up that the calendar's been updated.

    I always email things that I know I would need in writing - us switching days or times for BD or new activities DS is involved in with the cost, day, time, location, etc. Although, he still ends up texting asking for the same information the day before or of..
