Recommend your pediatrician?

Hello everyone, I'm a FTM due in November and I don't know many people in the area with kids, so I'm turning to you all.  It seems daunting to choose a pediatrician off of a list, so I'm asking for your recommendations.  I live in Delta Township, but I'd be willing to drive a little ways for a good doctor.  Any suggestions?

Re: Recommend your pediatrician?

  • We had many recommendations for Lansing Pediatrics, and we've been going there for the past month. We love it so far. We see Dr. Colton but have heard that all the doctors there are great.

  • We go to Capital area pediatrics and see Dr. Shah.  She is wonderful.  They always can get you in if you need it.  You can also schedule an appointment to meet one of the doctors before you deliver so you can see if you like them or not.

  • I have many friends who use Lansing Peds, I wish I could get in, but I need a newborn to do so.

I take my kids to West Side Peds, they are ok.

  • We see Dr. Hoopingarner (Dr. Hoop) at Lansing Pediatrics with our 5yo, and will be seeing them again with baby #2.  I think someone else already mentioned this, but the only way to get into this office is by having them start with your baby as a newborn in the hospital.  We've always been able to get right in for sick child appts, and you will need to schedule a month or so in advance for regular appts - but the staff is all very friendly, and always willing to help (no question is silly question kind of mentality)!  There are probably 6-8 Dr's and a couple of Nurse Practitioners as well that practice here, and we've never had a bad experience, nor have we EVER heard of someone not having a good experience - lots of our friends also go here.  Good luck in your search!
