Sleep help!!!!

So my son is going to be 6 months in 2 weeks and we went from sleeping amazing only getting up once at night around 3-6. Ever since he learned to roll over 2.5 weeks ago and we had to stop swaddling him he has been getting up no joke every 2 hours! I am so burnt out I haven?t a clue what to do. I bought the sleep gown to make him feel swaddled, I give him rice cereal before his last bottle of the night at 8 and without fail he is getting up every two hours. Not even to eat. He cries until we pick him up and If I put him to the boob he will just fall asleep after a few minutes. What am I missing ladies?? Should I up all his bottles during the day? He?s currently getting 4 ounce bottles every 3 hours.  Or try using a blanket tonight instead of the gown??

Any suggestions would be great!! I?m working full time and I am running out of steam big time. I have used eye drops 3 times already and look like im high when that is obviously not the case.

Re: Sleep help!!!!

  • I can't wait to hear what people say. We are going thru the same thing. We'll have two good nights and then three bad. It has been tough. I miss the swaddle so much!

  • Is he sleeping on his belly?  When my LO started to roll over, she also started tummy sleeping and that made a big difference.  I sometimes have to sort of rock her in the crib by patting/pushing her bum and shush her.  If you want him to learn to go back to sleep I probably wouldn't pick him up, but that's just my opinion. I would try to soothe him another way.  Good luck!  They constantly change.. Just when we get used to one thing, they change it up on us!

  • Yes! The moment I put him on his back he rolls! And he hasn't figured out how to get back over yet to his back. Then I had to get bumpers because he kept getting his arms and legs stuck outside his crib. Well he use to love his pacifier and not much anymore now either. I'm sure he will be teething soon!

Do you have your husband try and get her when she cries? I've had my husband try so I don't have to try and feed him becuase that is what he will want if I go in his room just to get himself back to sleep.

  • Excited 30 - He eats about 28 ounces a day. I was going off this..https://kellymom.com/bf/pumpingmoms/pumping/milkcalc/

He is on bm still. I pump at work so last night I pumped his last feeding so I knew exactly how much he was eaitng. So maybe I really do need to up his milk until he starts real food in two weeks. I would do real food now but due to work I couldn't go to his last doctor apt. I am going in two weeks so I can ask all the questions about what foods to give him. I also use a sleep sheep every time I put him down so I turn it on each time. So not sure what the deal is. Should he only be eating like the website says around 30 ouces a day??

  • We live right next to a busy road as well and have a dog. But at night our dog is usually in our bed passed out since he's a bit older. I am going to try and up his food, leave his music on longer and see what happens. Thanks for the advice!!
