Where do you get your Fenugreek? What brand is it and what form? I have two friends that gave me a bottle of Fenugreek when they stopped BFing. One is the brand Now and is in the form of a 500 mg powder form capsule. The other one is Gaia and it's a vegetarian liquid phyto-cap.
The second one my friend got at Whole Foods and said it costs $20 for a bottle. I don't want to spend that much on something that I will be going through 3 bottles a month. I see some on Amazon for $5 a bottle. I don't want to skimp out and buy a brand that won't work but I also don't want to break the bank on this stuff.
Also, are you planning to take this for awhile or just until your milk increases to where you want it?
Re: Who takes Fenugreek?
I saw a bottle on Amazon for about $4 but they didn't have blessed thistle and I wanted to take both. I think it was a bottle of about 100. I wound up buying the same brand at a natural food store by me and it was about $7-8 for the bottle. It was Nature's Way. I only went through 1 bottle of each of the supplements and then I got really tired of the maple syrup smell. I now just drink mother's milk tea. There were reviews that you have to drink gallons of the tea to make a difference, but I'm doing it more for maintenance. I don't think I could ever make enough milk to pump what my twins would eat.
Your supply is supposed to stay at the increased level after taking the supplements. I haven't noticed a drop in my supply since I stopped taking them.
