As I have posted several times, our local agency is causing me great stress. (That is putting it kindly.) In order to expand our search, we've connected with a consultant who is connecting us with agencies and situations. The first agency we sent our packet to called me today to let me know about a change that was going to impact us in a big way and we were going to pull our application. However, they called us back and helped us decide to keep our application with them.
Also, our agency doesn't like to work with BMs who are only using an attorney and not an agency. However, we've had two situations come up out of state, both of which were with an attorney. The adoption coordinator there was so extremely helpful in terms of calming me down and assuring me that if we were selected they would help us get our homestudy.
DH and I have been losing faith that adoption would be successful. Our profile wasn't getting shown at all. Now that we have added on this consultant and started branching out, we've definitely had big ups and downs, but the assistance has shown up exactly when we needed it and was provided by the nicest women in the world. Those experiences have really breathed new life into our hopes. We haven't been matched yet, but just to know our profile is being seen and that there are people who really want to help us is a true blessing.
Hope is being restored and prayers are being answered...at least on this leg of the roller coaster ride to adoption!
Of course, if I were a stronger human, I'd take my own advice: Philippians 4:4-7. I mean, that passage got me through cancer, so surely it should work here to!
Re: My faith in some of this is being restored
I feel like I could have written this post in Sept of 2010. I was at wit's end too....
But have faith--- the parties at the other end can help do the negotiating needed to get what is needed to clear ICPC, etc.

When you are on this side, it's so hard to know it will work out and frustrating that no one seems to understand what you need to get done. Hang in there
