OCD FTM looking for ideas.

So we are starting to go through things and there are so many manuals, warranties etc. I am totes ocd and would like to keep everything together and organized. I am thinking of putting together a binder. Has anyone done this or something similar? Tips, thoughts, etc?

All of our manuals and warranties for our home and appliances are in a binder. It's great, it just sits in the file cabinet, all in one place. I think it's a great idea to do with all of your LO's tihngs. I probably will be doing the same thing!

I have a file cabinet, with a special file for baby warranties. They're not organized much after that, and as I'm on my 3rd child and never really used any information from any of them, I don't think they need to be. Yet, I can't bring myself to throw them away...

I would just get a 3-ring binder and page protectors that you can slide each manual into. If you want it really organized, you could sort by types (toys/gear/etc.) or alphabetically or something.

The easiest way would be to get those plastic page protectors and to just drop the manuals in them inside a 3-ring binder. You can buy stick-on tabs to put on the end, and label them so you can find what you're looking for. I will probably organize alphabetically by product (Monitor, P&P, Stroller, etc.), since there aren't as many categories for baby gear as there are for your house. (Appliances, China, Pool, etc.) Then I'll probably make a separate tab for the warranties and just store copies of them (with receipts if I have them) individually in the page protectors. There's no wrong way to organize it, my system might not work for you, or you might think of a better way to do it!

I have an accordion (sp?) file to keep all my warranties and manuals in since some of them are really thick.

Also, I'm putting a family binder together similar to these two below. It will have important paperwork on our family (insurance, birth certificates, etc.) as well as emergency contact info (pet hospital, parent's numbers, etc. ).

I'm sort of combining the two ideas to what we work for me.

I kept all mine in a small flat-like rubbermaid storage under the bed... since it just kept growing and growing... Also keep extra screws and pieces in there for the convertible crib so I wouldn't misplace in time.

I have one with tabs and page protectors. Tabs are things like Electronics, Kitchen Appliances, Baby Gear, Tools, etc. Behind each tab is a page protector or two with all the warranties and manuals in it. I got the idea off of Pinterest and LOVE IT.

Ha, I have clinical OCD, so, yes, I made a folder the minute we purchaced anything. I even cut UPC codes off the boxes before throwing them away. I labled it Baby Warrenty's and its in the file cabnet with all my other documents. I also registered everything the day we got it and have the print out in the file as well. I think its smart with the crib and the stroller and car seat for sure.
