Anyone check out your vag yet? (TMI, I'm sure)

Um, yikes.

I am almost 3 weeks post-partum & have been feeling so good this time around - labor was short, I didn't tear or need stitches, and DD was only 6 lb, 14 oz after my 8 lb, 9 oz DS.  My recovery has been a breeze & I have basically felt back to normal for a week or two now and nothing hurts when I go to the bathroom.

So, I thought I would check out the vag with a mirror today.  Oh my.  Scary, large, gaping hole.  Surely this is going to close up a bit more still, right?

  • Brave, brave girl.
I haven't checked out what's going on down there, but I had a first degree tear and the other day my SO asked me what happens if they stitched "it" up wrong...thanks, my sweet man, thanks a lot. Lol.

  • I have looked a few times- as I wanted to know where my stitches were- I had 1-2 and felt great after too - the day I gave birth I was sitting with my legs up.  I feel great!
    lolololo
  • I had a third degree tear. DH looked when they were stitching me up and said, quote, it looked like a horror movie (thanks, buddy).

I haven't looked, nor will I be looking. You are brave, brave women to think of looking! Maybe that's immature of me, but I'd rather not know or see. :)

  • Yay! I'm normal! LOL

I looked because I have a horrifting pain everytime I pee. I think My Doctor cut the hell out of me with her finger nail. So I looked. and I nearly passed out even though I used a mirror for birth. I hope it goes back to normal! :(

  • Hellsno. With DS I waited months. This delivery was a lot easier and I thought I was all good and stopped bleeding. Then I carried around my 35 lb toddler and cleaned the house and it's a mess down there again. Add to that my bleeding hemroids...ugh.

  • No way!! I don't need to see that train reck
  • Only what I can see from a seated position on the toilet, no mirror for me yet! Well that's not completely true, I looked at my bottom the other day because something felt off and I found a hemorrhoid! What the heck :(

  • Yeah I check mine out a few days ago. Scary stuff!
I didn't tear down, but my labia had a few tears so they said they were going to give me some stitches so it didn't hurt so much when I was going pee.
I look like some ate me and spit me back out.. and a bit like Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas.

  • I didn't want to, but at like 5 days PP I just had to look. Oh my it was bad. Now at 15 days PP it looks relatively normal. There's still stitches and it's a little, um, wider looking, but hopefully in a week or two it will get better. Keep doing your kegels!
