Hi, I have been lurking on this board for a while...and I decided to finally introduce myself.
We have been trying to start a family for two years now and we are on the fence about fertility treatments. We keep stalling treatments and we realized it is because our heart just isn't in it.
My heart has been strongly leaning toward adoption starting about a year ago...it took DH a little longer to feel ready...and here we are!
I plan to hang out a little on this board, if that is OK, so I can learn as much as possible. We plan to save some money for the rest of the year, research and then dive in starting January 2013.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone!
Re: Introducing myself
We are interested in Foster/adoption through the state and went to an informational meeting a little while ago. Friends of ours built their beautiful family from adoption through the state and they have been a great resource for us. But we left there feeling "not qualified" enough...I felt like I needed some mom experience under my belt first before going down that road if that makes any sense. It is still an option for us though. We are just nervous.
We are also interested in open/semi open domestic infant adoption. I don't even know where to start with it though. We have a lot of research ahead.
Mother of two wonderful boys! Blessed through adoption.
