I've seen a lot of posts in the last few days about how things have changed on this board and now people are all puppies and rainbows etc... I DO understand the issue with the same questions over and over, and those people who might just be fishing etc... but what did it used to be like? None of these posts? PEople being less upbeat? Less supportive? Or was it a place to come and joke and have fun?
I'm actually not being sarcastic, I'm just curious
Re: What did it "used" to be like?

bwahaha, i wish the bump flamed people. people didn't coddle everything when i first got on, now it seems that we do!
Oh yeah, the Bump Gods come to your house and set you on fire. They videotape it and put it on YouTube. No one told you?

I see. I don't know.... for me I am the ONLY person in my group of friends married, let alone, TTC so I'm sure many of things I've said might have seemed fishing like, when really I was just learning.Sometimes people have no one else to share their thoughts with, so they might as well be able to do it here. They just need to be prepared to have people say things they don't like. I just would hate for people who really DON'T KNOW to stay away becasue they don't feel like they can get their question answered.
I'm thinking maybe a post that never goes away called "MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS" is in order at the top of the board. That way people can find answers to a lot of questions before coming on.
Just a thought
Ok, butting in, but I've been a member of a few public message boards and this is what happens. Board members come and go, stupid people come and go, there will be questions, there will be idiots, there will be flamers, snarks, snerts, trolls, etc, etc, etc,..... doesn't it sort of come with the territory? Just like I've flamed others on previously boards, I expect to at some point get flamed & probably already have...(though I know wtf I'm talking about 90% of the time and love Google.) Either way, GP is... after all... a PUBLIC board.?
Public boards are as 'annoying' as they come. ?
Now I'm butting out.?
?
P.s. JR I NEED YOUR AIM! I emailed you.?
HAHAHAHAHA!!!! LMAO!
Dude. You just don't get it. It's not JUST the dumb questions. It's a whole attitude. Just go about your business. Nevermind the rest of us. Ra Ra, Cis Boom BA.
I want a block feature first!
I stalked these types of boards while I was wedding planning, and I wedding planned for 2 years. It was always interesting to see how cyclical the boards were.I was never apprehensive to post though... even though I have seen some megaloid biitches run through this motherfvkcer.
PS Yes, I am a freak and looked at baby boards 2 years before I ever intended on making one of my own.
I didn't realize my comment was so?ludicrous. Obviously I wasn't asking if people got set on fire, I was just wondering if members just got peeved by a post or comment and considered it "flamed" or if thebump flamed posts/comments based on content.

People have a tendency to forget that they used to be the "newb" and didn't know everything at one point in time. For some reason certain people get on their high horse after they've been TTC for a while and think they know it all.
Like one of the PP said - as people move on to either the 6+ or TTTC board, "newbs" come in and the cycle starts all over (or some stay here so they can bully the newbs because it makes them feel better).
Just keep it in perspective - it's a public message board and everyone is here to seek out answers, learn and get support. Those that aren't need to find something better to do with their pathetic lives.
i know everything. ?there was never a point in time that i didn't know everything. ?thats why everybody loves me.?
*sigh*...from the gospel of Urban Dictionary:
or
A flame is noun associated with the action of flaming, what people do when they express a strongly held opinion without holding back any emotion.
Although flames often get out of hand, they have a purpose in the ecology of cyberspace. Many flames are aimed at teaching someone something (usually in overstated language) or stopping them from doing something (like offending other people). Flame messages often use more brute force than is strictly necessary, but that's half the fun.
You'll notice that flame is a verb. If you get flamed, that means people told you what a dumb f*ck you are for asking/saying xyz. Thus, theBump, which does not actively participate in threads, would never flame a post. It's not a designation a post gets, it's an act.
yes rs, I lurve you too?
I lurve you more. Fucktarded = new favorite word.
What asshats (2nd fav. word).
Wow, you certainly sound like YOU think you know it all.
A. I'm not TTC yet, so obviously your first statement doesn't apply to everone.
B. Not everyone is here for answers and support
C. Not everyone was a dumb newb at some point. Some of us lurked and got info like big girls before bombarding strangers with monotonous questions.
Sounds like you could use some perspective as well.
"I'm thinking maybe a post that never goes away called "MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS" is in order at the top of the board. That way people can find answers to a lot of questions before coming on."
This would be really, really helpful. Most forums I visit have some kind of READ THIS FIRST, or pinned threads to go through. Some people don't have time to stalk the forum for weeks waiting for their questions to be answered and learn to conform to the accepted posting standards.?
I still find it beyond funny that it has been deemed "immature" to say, God forbid, "preggo", but glitter signatures, cartoons, and virtual sprinkling of "baby dust" are totally mature and acceptable.?
I know I am being silly POAS early... its my first crack at this TTC stuff... no one else I can commiserate with. I can give a rat?s ass if I get flamed for it... I am excited and gonna enjoy the suspense as much as I can
Considering MNbride has been here a long freaking time, is one of the nicest and most objective ladies I've seen on here, I'm gonna say it. MNBride knows her shit.
She never said anything about you had to be ttc to be here. But you sure seem to think that you know all. Try letting someone else on the soap box once in a while.
MNBride, I've missed you! How have you been? Congrats on the BFP!
