I'm new to this board (hi ) but I came from another one. I'm 29 weeks but took my glucose test last week....
He said if he doesn't call me back then that means I passed. So clearly, I passed. But I noticed a lot of you on here and the other board I'm on...... women are told their actual gluccose results. I just would like to know if I was close to the 135/140 passing/failing line..... am I the only one who wasn't told their results?
Re: Anyone NOT told their glucose results?
O_O
Shoot. I'm sure he would've called me if I failed though; he's pretty good on his word. But I'm just going to call tomorrow anyway just to see if they'll give me the numbers
My Dr said no news is good news, but will tell me my results at the next appointment.
Nah, nobody called me either, and I'm gonna go with the whole "no news is good news" thing too. I could call, but then I'd have to wait for someone to call me back, and it just seems more trouble than its worth at this point. I'll get my results at my next appointment. I'm just glad I don't have a problem, because boy did drinking that syrupy junk make me feel crappy.

Most groups do literally hundreds of tests a month, so calling everyone would be a nightmare. Or they would have to hire someone just to call with results, which means your costs would go up, hence the "no news is good news."
Most OBs will go over the results at the next appointment, and they have to give you the results if you ask. I also get a printout after each appointment of all the results from all tests ordered since my last appointment. That seems to be the norm.
My office is another of the "no news is good news" office. The only reason I knew my number from the 1 hour is because I failed it and had to do the 2 hour.
Really, the only thing you need to know is pass or fail. I prefer not to know the specifics because I know that I'm the type of person to overanalyze any "questionable" result.

My doc didn't tell me the numbers when I had my test for DS#1. I think if it would have been borderline, he would have told me. I was not concerned at all, so I didn't ask for the actual numbers, but I have asked for specifics for other test results and have always been given them with no questions asked.
I go for my 1hr GTT tomorrow am and I don't expect to hear anything until my next appt Sep 11. If I fail, I imagine they will call me to arrange the 3hr, but I am going to pass(
power of positive thinking), so that means the doc will just confirm the pass at my 28w appt.
