Here are my thoughts on the heartrate issue. I think you may feel better int he 2nd tri, but your heart rate will still jump up quicker than non pregnant. In pregnancy a woman's blood volume increases greatly, sites I've read say 30-50%, making your heart work harder, all the time.
I took a nursing continued education class a few months ago regarding cardiac problems and pregnancy. Women with cardiac problems usually increase at least one severity level when pregnant. A stage 1 will be stage 2 during pregnancy, 2 a 3, and I believe 3's and 4's are recommended not to become pregnant due to risk for maternal and fetal death. All showing just how hard out bodies/hearts work during the pregnant state.
When I'm not pregnant I try to stay in shape and my resting heart rate is usually mid to low 40's. For anyone that knows anything about normal heartrates you know that that is not normal unless you are athletic. When I got in for surgery I have to tell the anesthesiologist so they don't freak when I dip into the 30's. This pregnancy I've been mostly in the 60's for my resting heart rate. Now I don't workout as much b/c I'm exhausted and nauseated most of the time, but I really think that only partially plays a factor in my increase in resting heart rate. I don't think I'm going to be able to push myself athletically at all until after delivery. My body doesn't seem to like the exercise anymore...puking after mild/moderate exercise sessions.
