I was always a side sleeper before I was pregnant, so I didn't anticipate any problems with needing to adjust to a new way to sleep. However, these little guys are sitting extremely low and honestly, some days it feels like they might be riding ON my hips.
At night, when I lay on my side, it wakes up the twin on that side. When I roll over, the other baby then gets up and and starts kicking. I could swear I'm annoying them!
I usually try to ignore it and sleep, but lately I've been ending up on my back every time I wake up, with hands and feet fast asleep. I use several body pillows to try to cushion my tummy, and it sometimes helps, however, I am out of sides here and wondering if anyone has had any success with another sleeping position? Maybe someone has tricks to snake charm my little cherubs into being a BIT higher? ![]()

All I can really do is commiserate. I can sleep on my side for short periods with the boppy pregnancy pillow under my belly and head and another pillow between my knees. But like PP said, it's such a pain to roll over that way. Most of the time I'm on my back but propped up. And the good thing about the boppy body pillow is that you can make it shaped like a baby boppy but in huge adult size, which makes me laugh to look at for some reason. But I put a couple of pillows under it and nestle into the boppy and then I can kind of lean to one side or another if laying on my back gets old. Still not as nice a pre-pregnancy sleep though!
I have also noticed that which ever side I'm on, I'll feel that baby kicking. I just assumed it was that I could feel it better because they were kinda squished and not that I was bothering them. Maybe I'm wrong though.
I'll share a tip that has helped me with hip pain (no advice on the wiggly babies, unfortunately!)
My chiropractor told me that if I sleep with a pillow between my knees, that I should make sure my legs aren't scissored (i.e. knees should be stacked directly on top of each other) and that there is also a pillow between my ankles. Apparently, our joints are looser and when we sleep with things out of alignment it can cause pain. This has helped with the "bruised" hip feeling.
