Brazilian Blowout & breastfeeding

My hair is totally out of control and takes way too long to blow dry and flat iron everyday.  I'm thinking about getting the Brazilian Blowout done to help decrease the time it takes to do something with my hair.  After reading about the treatment, nothing is actually absorbed into your scalp, so I don't think it would affect my breastmilk.  Has anything ever had this done while breastfeeding?

  • I'm not sure about it affecting breastmilk. However, unless the formula has been changed recently, it does contain formaldehyde. Studies were done in the field that proved this, even though it is touted as being free of chemicals. I had it done and cried the fumes were so bad. You might check with your doctor.

  • I had it done a couple months ago and didn't even think about it.  It really wasn't that bad.
