My husband and I are renovating our home... as in complete gut-rehab. We've managed to keep our living quarters clean and safe, but today our contractor let us know that we'd have to stain the kitchen floor because of an old urine stain they had found under the old linoleum tiles. We were hoping they'd be able to sand it out, but they couldn't. The wood stain the contractor bought is water-based, but is still not safe for pregnant women until it dries, so instead of holding up the project while we found a safer option, I told the contractor to go ahead and do what he needed to do. I called my MIL and let her know we'd be coming for a couple of nights. I really hope this baby holds on for a few more days until we get back home, though, because we've been planning a home birth and it would be disappointing to not be able to birth at home after all. Of course our first priority is a healthy baby, which means a safe environment in which to labor and give birth.
On another note, it wasn't until a few moments ago that I realized that my husband brought our emergency hospital bag with us. It didn't even occur to me to bring it (probably because I'm willing this baby to wait a few more days!)..
