Baby A is head down, Baby B is breech. I'm 3 cm dilated and A is engaged and ready to come out and play. They will let me try vaginal delivery but if they can't turn B they won't deliver him breech and will require a c-section. As I've gone through my doctor rotations (meeting the different doctors at the practice) i've gotten mixed reports on their "success rate" at turning Baby B.
I don't know why but it's such an odd decision to have to make! I think I'm more scared of the c-section than i should be. My biggest concerns are ability to bond with babies immediately and longer recovery time. Should those be real concerns? I've asked all the docs in my practice and gotten their feedback but none of them have been through it as a patient....
Re: Anyone have success getting baby B if breech turned?
It sounds like the chances of the "double whammy" (vaginal delivery for A, c-section for
are pretty low, from what I've heard on this board. It's very possible that B will flip to vertex once A is out and he/she has more room, also.
The possibility of having to recover from both types of labor definitely is not pleasant, but if it were me I'd try for the vaginal. Right now my boys are both breech (bad babies! Bad!) and I'm making my peace with a c-section, but if A flips I'd really like to try for a regular delivery (provided all three of us are in good health for it).
