Pre-School and Daycare

carseat question

We currently use Britax carseats for our 3 year old twin boys--but only have a set in one of our two cars.  Now that they are in preschool and we're taking turns dropping them off and picking them up, we'd like to buy a second set of carseats.

Will you recommend your carseat/booster seats?  They'll go into a Honda Accord.  I'd like to buy something relatively inexpensive because the kids will rarely be in this car... no more $200 Britax seats, please!  The boys are about 40" and 35 lbs.

Thanks in advance...

Re: carseat question

  • Ok... read the post below talking about combination seats (a 5 point harness that converts to a booster).  I see a couple of products listed but still wonder about a budget option for a 2nd car...

  • We have an Evenflo Tribute. It's pretty inexpensive, and really easy to install!

  • I think the Cosco Scenara are really reasonable in price and were rated pretty well front facing. I can't remember much more but I know a lot of people I know got them.

  • I'd say the Evenflo Maestro would be a good choice. I think it's around $80, has a tall harness height, and converts to a booster.

I agree with this. I have 3 y/o twin boys too and that is what I would go for. At their age I don't think it makes sense to spend money on Cosco Sceneras which they'll outgrow soon (and also to pay for the RF feature which you wouldn't use).

LO second the Maestro, aside from the Graco Nautilus and the Britax Frontier, the Maestro is one of the tallest harnessed boosters, and not expensive. The Scenera would be outgrown rather quickly given the height.
