a little worried about kicks...

I might be overreacting but yesterday and today I haven't felt much movement. I am 28 1/2 weeks and he should be moving a lot right? Last week he would have times he was going wild in there but yesterday I hardly felt anything and today I haven't really felt anything. Also I noticed yesterday I felt a little heavier in the cervix area and kind of crampy. It's way too early for him to have dropped though, right? I thought that doesn't happen untill closer to 33 or 34 weeks or later. I also read a post on another board that has me panicking even more about all of this. I won't even say what it is though because if you haven't read it... don't! (the title of it is kind of a warning but still not what I expected when I opened it)- if you have read it you probably know which one I am talking about. Anyway, do you guys think I should be worried? I seriously might be freaking out over nothing but just wanted an opinion...

Also, I haven't felt any Braxton Hicks yet (I don't think) . Anyone else this far along and not felt them yet?

Thanks in advance for any input!!

Re: a little worried about kicks...

  • I haven't felt any Braxton Hicks yet either. I feel some feeling that I thought might be them but then when I touch where I feel tightness its just the baby moving right there. Like as if shes pushing against the wall there. I have no idea.

  • If you are really worried call your OB.
  • Babies have their active days and their lazy days. I wasn't feeling a lot of movement the past two weeks. This week my baby has been very, very active. What counts is that you're feeling some movement.

Maybe a phone call to your OB will help ease your mind.

  • I'm just shy of 28 weeks and I haven't felt any braxton hicks either. I thought maybe I did the other night during sex (it felt like a charlie horse across my whole belly) but it stopped right after and hasnt happened again.
  • No Braxton Hicks for me that I'm aware of either, at 27 1/2 weeks. I also have days where LO doesn't move much, and other days where he doesn't do much else. As long as I feel him move a little here and there, I don't worry about it.

  • Any movement is good movement at this point. He may be sleeping during certain times of the day where he was usually active. If you're worried call your doctor, but it's pretty common at this point to have active times and lazy times.

  • I think everyone is different and even every pregnancy is different, so its hard to compare yourself to other people which is super hard to do when you read various websites and blogs etc.  if you are totally worried I would call your OB and they are usually pretty good and will get you in right away if not the next day.  Also drink some OJ or real cold water and just sit and relax and let the movements begin.  Some days for me the LO moves all over and some the LO doesnt but gives me a little jab here and there :)
