Boston people

I'm booking a hotel room for a night in Boston.  Do I want to be in the downtown/financial district or Back Bay?

We're staying in a Hilton because of DH's reward points.  The downtown hotel gets better reviews but when I read about the city, the Back Bay area gets better reviews.

Re: Boston people

  • They are only a few blocks apart really so to go to Back Bay from the Financial district is not far at all.  maybe a 10 minute walk.  Back Bay is definitely a nicer area (more to see, the Common, the swan boats, etc).

  • Ok, I booked the Back Bay hotel : )

Is the Freedom Trail something we should do?  Would that be the best way to see the city?

  • The Freedom Trail and any of the Trolley/Duck tours.

  • I'd recommend Old Towne Trolley over the duck tours. Parks and rec also offers free walking tours starting at the old state house. Have a great time! I'm jealous!
