Hi, I?m sorry I realize you get lots a carrier questions, I read through a bit and still have a few specific questions. I have a son who will be two and a half when my next baby is born. To make a long story short my older son had some surgery when he was an infant so he is currently getting physical therapy and enrolled in some other activities I would need to be able to continue doing after the new baby comes so I think wearing the baby may become important.
My questions are the following I want something for when the baby is younger and was thinking about either a Moby or a K?tan can anyone give me an opinion on which may be better? I will be the one wearing him so I?m not concerned that the K?tan can?t transfer between myself and my husband my question would be whether it provides a secure or snug enough hold? Vs with the Moby whether I would be able to handle wrapping it and positioning it while trying to participate in therapies?
My other question is that I currently own a Becco butterfly 2. I didn?t get to wear my son as much as I anticipated but my concern with this carrier when I did wear him is once he was a bit bigger (closer to a year) I felt like I was strapping his shoulders down and he didn?t like not really getting to use his arms? Am I doing something wrong?
Is there any significant benefit of a Moby over the Becco I already own? Thank you so much.
Re: baby carriers
The link in my siggy has lots of info on newborn specific carriers as well as carriers in general.
A baby that's a year old should be able to pull his arms out of the Beco since it's not that tall - and it's totally fine for them to do so. You'll see pictures of "arms out" babies on my blog.
