I thought this was one of the guaranteed symptoms... Ugh, now I realize I was checking the tp for nothing. I know I am not overdue, but now I feel like I am going to be pregnant forever. BS was my last hope of trying to figure out when it is false labor or real labor.
ETA: I was 2 cm dilated, 60% effaced, baby was -2 station (still really high). They had to induce because baby's amniotic fluid levels were low, at 5 cm instead of the recommended 10 cm.
It rates the chance of success of an induction based on varying factors. It also determines if labor is likely to happen on its own (provided everything is good) or not.
It drives me crazy that, at the end of the day, there is very little that can help you determine if labor is imminent. Mucus plugs can rebuild themselves, braxton hicks mean nothing, effacement and dilation mean nothing, etc. I honestly just try not to think about it! (As I head to the bathroom to check for MP on tissue...)

I lost my MP on the Saturday before my due date but I didn't have bloody show...or much more than some pressure periodically and my water broke "accidentally" while my OB did my internal on my due date...no BS for me.
I went into labor naturally, and I never saw a bloody show! My water broke, my MP came out in big chunks over the next few hours, and I eventually went to the hospital and pushed out a baby! I never saw any blood at all....until they were wiping DS off.
This is true. I didn't have any blood with DS1 until I lost my MP two days into labor (yeah, it was crazy-long). With DS2--again I was well into labor. I had a smidge of blood 1.5 hours before he was born and lost my MP 45 min after that.

I would just like to say that your baby is soooooo cute!!!

Thank you! I would have to agree
