My OB told me to only gain between 20-25lbs which I thought was a tad bit odd since I was a perfectly normal weight PP. Today I hop on the scale and I am officially up 40 lbs. Anyone else already surpass their "recommended" weight gain?

I'm up 45 but with all my BP issues I'm not as worried anymore bc I'm 95 percent sure a LOT of it is water retention, especially in my thighs, because I eat really healthy.
I'm gaining about the same I gained with DS, around 40 total. I really don't care though, this last month - I gave up. I just seem to gain 40 with pregnancies. My doctor isn't concerned about it either. I lost it all by the time I got pregnant again with this one (9 months PP) so I'll just have to take it all off again.
Bottom line, mom & baby are healthy. And I want to enjoy ice cream. So I don't care. haha.
My Doc didn't recommend anything, but since I had a normal BMI, I should have been up 25-35. As of Saturday, I'm up about 43. UGH. Oh well, can't turn back now!
I decided long ago I would get on the scale only at the doctors office and I never want to know what it says. My doctor and I talked and as long as baby is healthy and I am healthy I am not going to care about the weight. She told me she would only speak to me about it if she became concerned I was not gaining enough or gaining to much. I have no clue how much I weigh or how much I have gained and I have to tell you with all the other stuff to stress over I am so glad I don't have this.
Sorry I couldn't be much help

My OB wanted me to gain between 30 and 40, and I'm now at 42. I was disappointed because I wanted to stay closer to 30, but oh well. I'm trying to watch myself as much as possible this last month, but also trying to enjoy the last little bit and not stress. Dr said he won't worry until I get to 50, then we will need to figure something out.
I'm up 34 lbs at 36.5 weeks, so I'll likely go over the recommended 25-35 gain. I'll admit that I've been having my share of baked goods this pregnancy, and as I get nearer to the end, I'm having more.
Im up 37, I was maybe 10 pounds overweight PP and they told me to gain 25-35. However they are saying I gained 10 pounds in 1 week so I think I was retaining water last week considering my entire pregancy I only gained about a pound every 3 weeks.
I'm also about 35 to 40 pounds over PP and I was thin before getting pregnant. I gained most of it in the first few weeks though, at 16 weeks I was already up 20+ pounds. I just don't give a flying fluck anymore.
I'm up 45lbs. I started off at 120lbs and I'm 5'4". I still have 2 weeks to go at least... I'm guessing I'll be close to the 50+ mark by the time it's all said and done.

I fell in the normal BMI category, so it was recommended that I gain between 25-35. As of this morning, I was up 30. I really feel a lot of it is water retention, especially in my thighs, because I walk more now than I did PP, and still, maternity pants/jeans that fit a month ago, are way too snug in my thighs now.
im up 30lbs but i feel these last couple appointments (up 1/2-1lb each time) have came a lot from baby. my doc was slightly concerned at one point when i gained quite a bit in a month but its evened out now im not too worried about it. just motivates me more to lose it after shes born. i was overweight to begin with but it comes with the territory. i feel 30lbs is doing pretty good considering i want to eat everything i can get my hands on (i dont actually, i just want to lol)
I'm up about 31, but after all the cookies I just ate, this number's probably rising. I'm trying not to really stress about it bc I figure I can lose the weight after the baby. For right now, I don't really want to have to watch what I eat that carefully.
I'm up 46lbs with 4 weeks to go. I'd like to think that I can manage just 1lb a week and not go over 50, but I'm not holding my breath. I'm also done worrying about it and have resumed nightly ice cream. I like working out and I'll find a way to lose it.

Because I was about 30 lbs overweight before PG, they recommended 11-20 lbs for me. Ha! I'm up 45lbs. I was up 50 but it went down a smidge. Its frustrating but I try not to stress over it. I worked so hard to lose 50 lbs in 2010 and now I will just have to do it again. So happy a couple of my girlfriends went in together and bought my jogging stroller.
I never had a recommended amount of weight to gain but I'm already up 42 pounds. My OB hasn't said anything about it being too much so I'm not really all that worried about it.
Re: And I am officially 15lbs over
I'm up to 31 pounds... about 10-15 over what they wanted me to gain.
Granted, 15 pounds has been in the past 2 weeks and is all water but still. yuck.
I have officially gained 50 lbs total so far. Ugh, I cannot believe it. I still have 4 weeks to go. I was in normal BMI prior to pregnancy.
