Recommend your audio baby monitor

We are in the process of registering and one thing we just can't narrow down is the monitor.  I don't really see the need in a video monitor, I mean I can go across the hall and check in if need be.  I do want a reliable audio monitor, it doesn't have to be fancy, just something I could trust.  Almost every review for any monitor says unreliable somewhere on it.  I am hoping some STM's out there can help us decide on a brand, etc.  Thanks!

    We have had the Sony baby call for almost 2 and a half years and it has never failed us.

    The best one is the Angelcare. They make one without the mattress pad. It is like $54 on Amazon and amazing. It is smart enough to learn the white noise machine and block out the sound. Check it out.

    We got the Sony Baby Call for my parents house (we have a video monitor at our house) and I think it is great No complaints and it is cheap.

    We liked the Sony Baby Call. It's basic, inexpensive, and works well.
