I have Shingles?!?!?! XP BF

Supposed to travel/drive 6 hrs with DH and DS next thurs-sun for his bffs wedding (which ds is in), hope I can handle it! Dr. gave me Norco for the pain, Valtrex, Pepcid and Prednisone. I have gotton mixed advice from the Dr., 2 pharmisits (one a good friend who also bf'd) one LC (from DS's pedi) and the internet as to safety of bf-ing. Any comfort tips? Should I even go to wedding? (contagious?) DH's parents are driving up and staying at another hotel to watch DS for the resecption/wedding for us (woo hoo date night?!?!) and all reservations have been made at hotels. wwyd? TIA ladies!
