I'm probably at about 3-4cm at this point. Painful irregular contractions for 24 hours+, had my bloody show, mucous plug is gone, but I'm pretty sure i'll end up making it to my scheduled induction on Monday morning still at this rate.
I'd love to hear your experience with an induction if you had a similar situation to me.
Re: Tell me about your induction...
With my last pregnancy I had to be induced. I was 3cm at my 40w check, 4cm at my 41w check and 4cm at my 42w week. It was at that last appt. (41w6d) that they noticed my fluid had gone down slightly so she sent me over to the hospital for an induction (i had my membranes swept at all three of those appt's). It went really quickly and really smoothly.
I got checked in, was having minor minor contractions from the sweep. After about 30 minutes my dr. got there and started me on the smallest dose of pitocin and also broke my water. I was in full on labor within 30-45 minutes. I mostly stayed on the birthing ball leaning over the side of the bed. I ended up getting an epidural after about 4 hours from checking in because I just couldn't stay relaxed during the contractions (was hoping for another med-free birth) and my dilating was slowing down. (This was my observation based on comparison to how fast I dilated with my first two.) After 30 minutes on the epidural, I had gone from 6-10cm and was ready to push. My epidural was great and I was able to feel where to push and he was out in 2 or 3 contractions.
I hope you don't need the induction, but I'm sure you will just need the tiniest bit of a nudge if you do make it to that point - good luck!!
That sounds similar to where I was when I was admitted to the hospital last Monday. They let me labor on my own with nipple stims and walking for a few hours. Then when I got to 3cm they broke my bag of waters. I labored on my own and got to 10cm and pushing without any pitocin or other augmentation. I did get an epi at 7cm/90% and DS2 was born about 45 mins later.
It was a great experience IMO! Has your OB given you any details about what his/her preferences are for inductions? My OB group was great at answering my questions before doing anything
GL and HTH!

SCANDAL!
Mine was quite different but I started out much less "favorable" than you. I went in at 39 weeks for my induction at 1cm, 50%. They inserted cervidil on Sunday night and my Monday morning I was only 1.5cm, 60%. Started pit at 6am, they broke my water when I was at a 2 around 10am. Could not take the contractions so I got the epi around 11:30. From 11:30am to 9pm I went from a 3 to a 4, only 80% effaced. I started running a fever and baby's heartrate was high so I opted for the c-section.
Hope yours goes very very smoothly! GOod luck!
I was induced at 40w5d b/c of low fluid. Had been 1 cm, 50% for 3 weeks.
Pitocin started at 5:30 pm, broke water at 10:30 pm (3 cm, 80% at this point), 5 cm by 12:30, continued to labor w/o pain meds until 5:30 am and got epi (7 cm), contractions completely stopped so they had to up pitocin every 30 min. Checked at 9:30 am, was complete. Started pushing at 10:15 and she was born exactly one hour later.
