How often do/did you see your MFM?

I'm supposed to see mine every 2 weeks to check cervix length and then get an ultrasound every month. I just wondered if this was routine. Every 2 weeks seems like a lot to me. How often do/did you see your MFM? TIA

It sounds about right to me. I saw mine every two weeks and got ultrasounds at each visit. Starting about 32 weeks or so I started seeing him every week with continued ultrasounds at every visit.

Starting at 16 weeks we saw ours every other week for a full ultrasound. We still had the big anatomy scan at 20 weeks, along with a heart defect scan (we had no risk factors for anything, it was just an extra precaution that our doctor took). At 30 weeks I started going in once a week for an u/s, and then at 32 weeks I went 2-3 times a week for a NST and ultrasounds. I delivered at 35.6 weeks.

I am currently seeing mine on a monthly basis for a growth scan. I need to ask at my appointment next week if these will be increasing since I will be 28 weeks along at that point.

For awhile after my PTL, I saw them once a week. We now do cervical length every 2 weeks and growth scan every 4 weeks.

I see my MFM every two weeks and get an ultrasound at each visit. He checks for growth every 4 weeks. Starting next week 32 weeks I will be seen every week for an ultrasound plus two NST each week.

Weeks 16-24: Every 4 weeks (Growth scan and cervical/ fluid level check)

Weeks 24-32: Every 2 weeks (Cervical/ fluid level check every time, growth scan every other)

Weeks 32- forward: Weekly (Growth scan, fluid level check, BPPs, NSTs)... not there yet, but that is what my OB said they will most likely recommend.

Starting at 20 weeks I have seen my MFM every 4-5 weeks. At 24 weeks I started seeing my OB every 2 weeks

thanks everyone. It seemed like a lot, but I guess that is normal. Since we just found out about the twins a 2 weeks ago, I'm still learning. We already had our 1st appt with the MFM.

Since 18 weeks I see the MFM every 4 weeks for an u/s and I see my regular OB every 4 weeks too but on a different schedule. So I am seeing one of them every 2 weeks.

My appointments with the MFM are monthly (I have bi-monthly appointments with the OB) but I've insisted on seeing them every two weeks for cervical length checks since I contract so much and they have no problems with that.

It's actually been a point of frustration for me b/c I see 2-3 different MFMs - 2 want to see me monthly, 1 wants to see me bi-monthly. Make up your minds! I took matters in my own hands and insisted on bi-monthly to err on the side of caution. In all honestly I'd gladly go once a week if they'd let me Stick out tongue

This is pretty close to my schedule. The heart defect scan as at 24 wks (along with growth, fluid, and cervical check). Since things have been going well, they dialed back to monthly growth checks until 32 weeks where it steps up again. I haven't made those appointments, but my regular OB told me the MFM would want to see me at least 2x/wk for the NST's.

Yeah that sounds right. I've been going in every two weeks ( ultrasound and doc visit) and just last week the hold me to come in once a week. Ill be 35 weeks on Tuesday with Mono-di (identical) twins. Not one complication yet/ fingers crossed. I'm not restricted in any way, not oversized, not do planning or dilated at all. They say I'll prob go all the way. The doc said I won't want to go past 38wks but I don't have any problems or major/unbearable aches or pains. My goal is 40.
