sandpaper/crayon print tshirt ??

Someone on here did this for a bday party -- who has triplets?  Smile  I wanted to know how the shirt holds up after a washing or two.  Also, can you stick it in the dryer or does it melt?  I saw the directions said to put it in the dryer to "set" it -- won't that make a melty mess?  I just see melted crayon everywhere. :)  I thought this might be a cute project to do with my class for Christmas...

  • Hmmm, good questions. I can think of something that was ruined by a crayon in the dryer and I seem to remember that it was stained and wouldn't come out. I'm interested to hear the response.

I don't think I know what you're talking about, but page tripmama.  She's the only one with triplets that I know about.  So, she might be your go to lady.

Thanks!  I believe she is my girl I'm looking for.  She made a rainbow shirt for her son for a bday with sandpaper and crayons...

  • Yeah, I did a shirt for Xander, to wear to their Bday party. https://tripmomma.blogspot.com/2012/06/xanders-birthday-digs.html

I can't really say how it held up though...he wore it into the pool all day at their party and it really faded the crayon. I bet it would hold up fine to a couple washes though.

It doesn't melt in the dryer, and yes, right after you finish making it you are supposed to pop it in the dryer to set the color in. I did and no problems at all. There are some instructions on my blog post about it.
