I would like to add items for nursing to my registry but am sort of clueless about what I will need beyond a Bobby and a pump. Does anyone have a list of items like, pads, milk storage, bottles (for breast milk)...What else? Any particular products that are good? TIA
Re: Nursing Supplies
Things I used:
Pads- Lansinoh were my fav but the Medela brand were just as good.
Lanolin cream-Lansinoh or Medela worked great for me
Nursing sleep bra- I've only tried the Medela brand and it held the pads in place, gone were the mornings I'd wake up wet!
Bottles and storage-I had a Medela pump so I stuck with their stuff, except the bottles I fed DS with which were Dr.Browns. It took me a long time to figure out the Dr. Browns bottles fit on the Medela pump lol
Some people like storage bags but I never used them so no input there. I think that's it since you already got the pump and boppy!
ETA: I think it would be a good idea to register for extra parts too. Sometimes I'd lose the tiny white part on my pump so II had to keep extras on hand all the time.
Pump membranes
Nursing camis
Medela soft shells or something like thatthey provide a barrier between sore nips and bra
bamboobies - the disposable pads were so annoying to me.. they itched like crazy. I use the thin ones during the day and the thick ones at night.. I'm still a heavy leaker over night. Lansinoh were the least annoying disposable pads I tried.
lanolin - I preferred Medela because it was easier to smear on but Lansinoh works fine
I use earth mama angel baby nipple butter when they get dry (unrelated but their bottom balm for diaper rash is awesome and smells really good too!)
a spare set of pump parts so you don't have to wash them every minute
backup spare parts - membranes and set of tubing - unless you get the freestyle. They don't currently sell backup tubes, if you call and ask for them they will send them to you.
earth mama angel baby booby tubes are great for soothing and is amazing when you need to apply heat because they wrap around comfortably
I like simplisse or lansinoh storage bags
a nursing cover
a hands free pumping bra - i really like my simple wishes bra - it will hold full bottles of milk, I hear some of the other ones are not so good at holding the bottles when they get on the full side
I have a second dishwasher basket so I can throw pump parts in it. The OXO basket is larger than the munchkin basket so I like it better
I pump into mother's milkmate storage bottles at work and that works well for me. When i go home I either make bottles or transfer to storage bags and freeze.
I hated the boppy for nursing, dd always fell in the hole. I used the breast friend pillow, then a normal pillow, then nothing.
You may need to buy larger breastshields for your pump. My OB told me that 75% of women are too large to use the ones that actually come with the pump.
I bought a package of pump part sanitizer wipes but don't use them that often. I feel like I can't get into the nooks and crannies well so it feels pointless to me.
Microwave sterilizer bags are easier to use than boiling in my opinion, but I usually just throw stuff in the dishwasher and use the sanitize cycle instead.

I do think it depends on how much you plan to pump. If you're going to be a SAHM, for example, you may not need as much extra stuff because you probably are only going to pump occassionally. Just something to keep in mind, and make sure you don't open anything before the baby gets here because you might not be able to return it to the store (other than a Boppy or nursing cover). Here's what my list would be:
Boppy
nursing cover
pump
storage bags (I liked Lansinoh. I never used storage bottles - bags take up less space in the freezer)
bottles for feeding (We used Breastflow and they were great, and I also had a Born Free bottle I liked)
lanolin for sore nipples (I used Lansinoh, loved it)
breast pads (I tried Lansinoh and Medela and hated them; switched to Johnson & Johnson and loved those. This time I got some Bamboobies because I want to stop using disposable pads)
nursing tanks and bras, which I bought after the baby was born so I knew which size to get
This time I want to get some Milkies Milk Savers. I think I could have collected a ton of extra milk the first time around if I'd had them.
If you're planning to work full-time after the baby is born, you'll want a good double electric pump, and you'll probably need some extra accessories to go with it (pump parts, hands-free nursing bra, storage bottles, etc.)
HTH!
- lanolin (one tube of the stuff should last you for every kid you'll ever have)
- if you have a medela pump, the super cheap gerber bottles you can buy at walmart or target fit on them (they are approx $3 for 3 bottles, medela bottles are way more). I have six 5oz bottles and three 10oz bottles and i have found that to be a comfortable number for my part time pumping (i pump approx 1 bottle a day)
- definitely go with the double pump, even for part time pumping or pumping to save up supply for later on, totally worth it.
- if you have a hard time nursing in the beginning (which most do) you might try using a nipple shield to get them to latch properly. They would most likely help you with this at the hospital. I had to use it for 2 days and it literally saved my BF'ing life. otherwise i would be an exclusive pumper.
- I tried both medela and lansinoh storage bags. i liked the lansinoh way better. they freeze flat. If you have a 6 oz bag but only need 3oz, you can break it in half and leave the rest for next time... I have found this extremely helpful and have wasted a lot less frozen milk since figuring this out!
Hope that helps and good luck!

My baby is only 2.5 weeks old, so I'm no expert, but for what its worth I really love the Ameda ComfortGel Hydrogel pads...they feel sooo good on my nipples!
Also, I prefer the cloth breast pads to the disposable (I find the disposable itchy and hot). I have been using the TL Care organic cotton nursing pads (on Amazon and at Babies R Us)
