Beco Gemini - when to adjust snaps near legs?

I can't find the manual to our Gemini right now.  We currently have the bottom snaps at the infant setting.  When do I snap at the wider setting for LO's legs?  What do I look for with the way LO sits?

  • When they reach 15lbs.

  • It's not so much about weight as length.  With any carrier, the best position for baby is a "sit squat" - the carrier should come out to the knees and the knees should be slightly higher than the bum.  If baby's knees are starting to drop, making her legs "dangle" you need a wider base.  That's important for her comfort (and proper spine support) but also for the wearer's comfort in that a baby in a "dangle" position isn't hugged into the wearer's body which will strain your back as she gets heavier.

Thank you!  DD is only 11.5lbs but she does have long legs.  I will take a look at her legs the next time I wear her.
