I'm just wondering because I was told that everyone is different. For some, you can get your AF back as early as 6 weeks and for others it can take up to 2 years if BFfing. DH and I want a second LO close in age to this one. Right now there is no sign of AF...
For those of you planning another one close in age, what will you do about BF if AF hasn't returned?
Re: How many have AF returned and still bfing?
technically you can ovulate before AF returns. Are you thinking about another LO already?
I need a couple of years (I am 32 now). No signs of AF yet.
I haven't had AF return yet, and in fact I JUST stopped bleeding a week ago (UGH!!!!). But I wouldn't be surprised if it returns sooner rather than later. DS started giving me 6 hours stretches at night around 4 weeks and is now up to 7 and 8 hour stretches. I'm not positive that has a whole lot to do with it, but I'm sure it's enough. My OB gave me a prescription for combination birth control at my 6week follow-up and when I asked if I should be taking the mini pill because I'm EBF, she asked how long I was going at night without feeding DS. When I told her, she said that stretch alone was too long to let the mini pill be an effective form of birth control (and I already knew BF wasn't - it is no longer effective if you're LO sleeps a 6 hour stretch at night, among other things). I asked if it would interfere with my supply and she said since it was well established by 6 weeks, I shouldn't see any difference. I'm starting it tomorrow, but I'm wondering if I'll even get my "period" while I'm on it. I guess I'll find out soon enough!
I honestly don't want to think of another one right now...But according to my OBGYN, I should start trying in 6 months if I want another...I'm 38. The doc says fertility goes way down after 37...This is why if we want another child, we need to start trying...
I am still getting up every 2 hours and nursing at night...My LO is 11 weeks today...I'm taking the mini pill....I swear it feels like the way the mini pill works as birth control, is that while you're on it, you are never in the mood...Seriously, the mini pill dries you up...My OBGYN had warned me about it. And it is so true.
ugh, really? EBFing already does that. I am waiting to start the mini pill because DH is not back yet.
