Adoption

Int'l Mommas

How long did your biometrics appointment take? We just got our appointment in the mail and are trying to figure out a date to go earlier (as if I'm waiting 2.5 weeks!). I'm trying to convince DH to go on Tuesday, but if we're going to be there for hours, we'll have to wait until the following Monday (which is obviously forever).

Re: Int'l Mommas

  • Our office is not generally very busy.  I've gone twice- one for adoption and once for my immigration.  Both times I waited less than 5 minutes and the fingerprinting part takes about 10 minutes for each person.  You fill out a little satisfaction survey and are on your way.  I'd say if you book 1/2 hour (if your office is not too busy) you'll be good.

You can always drive by and see how busy it is before going in!

  • Well our office is an hour and a half away (Texas has a LOT of empty space), so driving by is actually not that easy!

  • Our closest office was also 1 1/2 hours away, and in a major city, so I was expecting a major wait.  We had lined up childcare for pretty much the whole day.  But, the appointment took less than 30 minutes, start to finish!  It was no big deal at all.
