Anxiety accelerating

I have five days until our ultrasound to check to see whether or not my cysts are growing or shrinking or stagnent.

I have been cutting out practically all sugars since I found out about the potential surgery... I'm almost through my first 1000 calories for the day, and only at 4g of sugar (all nuts/seeds, so primarily raw sucrose)... limiting because it's about the only thing I know to do with cysts - even tho these don't appear to have any relation to PCOS.... I feel like I don't really have any other "home remedies" I can safely perform...

I'm doing all I can to remember to eat enough protein and fat to keep my calories up, but I'm terrified that my choice to reduce the sugars and starches for the sake of the cysts will cause harm to the babies, and that freaks me out just as much as having the ovaries removed.

I've (TMI) started having more vaginal swelling/discomfort/thick mucous discharge, and even tho I know all of that should be normal and standard for early 2nd trimester, I'm psyching myself out about preterm labor and miscarriage.

Feel like I'm losing my damn mind. I am unreasonably tempted to throw a bunch of cash at an in home ultrasound machine just so I can make sure everyone's still kicking around with heartbeats and track my own cyst progress.

Re: Anxiety accelerating

  • I started having the same symptoms around 15 weeks with a lot of discharge and swelling. My doctor said it is completely normal with all the increased bloodflow down there! As for the cysts, I am sending you many well wishes for your appointment next week. Good luck!

  • Hang in there. As long as the foods you are eating are healthy and you are getting enough of them, you aren't going to harm your babies by cutting out sugar and starch. Those are foods people shouldn't be eating a lot of anyway.

You have two babies pushing against your vag and that's going to be uncomfortable and cause some swelling so don't freak yourself out about it.

    Good luck at your appt!

  • I would think that it would be okay. I don't think limiting sugars is a bad thing anyway....in the other thread about protein food you.listed all kinds of good.stuff that you ARE eating. I would think that even.if it were detrimental (which i totally do not think.it is), that it has not been that.long since you saw the specialist (and i am.assuming modified your diet from that point) so not.long enough to cause any issues anyway. FWIW, all these dischargy pressure stuff is starting to happen to me too....so i think that like thr pp said, it is just that time. I really hope that the cysts are shrinking and that you can forgo.surgery. good.luck at your appointment.....
