Monthly Baby Pics [AW PIP included]

Are you going to do monthly baby pics, and have you decided how you will do them? I did with DD, before I ever started noticing that the entire world was doing it. Probably just because I didn't pay as much attention before her. Anyway, I always did them in the same place - in front of her crib [that she didn't sleep in! haha], and next to the same big stuffed teddy to show off her size/growth. I made a little cardstock sign each month that said how many months old she was, and the date. It was such fun to display them at her first birthday!!

I've noticed a lot of people doing those iron-on monthly numbers... or just Photoshopping the numbers on later. I wanted to do something a teeny bit different, so here's what I came up with:

Plain white onesies [starting with asap after he's born so I have a starting off point. My DD grew a TON between the first day and 1 month, so I'm glad I started at NB].

I'm writing his age and weight on the front every time. First one [NB size] will have his name, DOB, and height/weight so we can use it as an announcement type thing!

I'm debating between buying a new large stuffed animal so they each have their own special one... or just using the same huge stuffed teddy. Not sure which to do, but I'm running out of time!

...and while I'm at it, since I'm already being an AW... here's his coming home outfit. Might add either NB jeans (that are currently being washed), or soft dark blue pants/matching jacket.

I did monthly baby pics of DS.. kind of. I didn't go all out with putting his age on his shirt or posing him a certain way or anything, but I made sure I got a good pic of him on his "birthday" every month. then I got a collaged picture frame that had 15 spots in it, I put a newborn pic in 1, his name in another and his birth stats in another then the monthly pics. I Need to find a frame so I can do this with our new LO

Cute! I will do them because I want something time specific to show how big she grows. My SIL bought some really cute stickers from Etsy that have 1 - 12 on them, I just need to figure out what to do with the first photo. I think I will photoshop a 0 on her first photo. I had planned on using the dog to size her because he isn't growing any more and will sit for pictures, but then I have to wait until we are home from the hospital for the first photo. We shall see.

We did Picky Stickys with DS and will with this one, too. The things one the onsies aren't usually iron ons, just the stickers. It was really awesome to have those pictures and see the changes the first year.

I did this for my daughter also. I started at newborn and went to her first birthday. I put all of these pictures in her scrapbook and labeled the info myself. I wasn't creative enough to add anything into the actual picture with references, lol.

I personally would probably get them separate bears, so that they each have their own.

I did monthly pictures with DD in my glider in her room in one piece Jammies w "x months" balloon cut out of paper taped onto chair! they turned out really cute !
I still need to put them all into my collage frame !

I ordered some onesie stickers off of Etsy that start with "Just born" and then monthly until a year. I am going to use those on plain white onesies.

I do want to do some sort of scrapbook of LO's first year- either a digital one which would be easiest or a real handmade one- but I don't scrapbook a whole lot so that is a bit daunting to me.

I make a first year scrapbook, and then I am going to do digital "family yearbook" ones online of all of us. I know myself, and I wouldn't keep up with the scrapbook thing. I take waaay to many pics not to do something with them every year though, so I like the yearbook idea. Usually you can find pretty good digital scrabook deals online too.

No, I didn't do them. We did manage to take over 4,000 pictures in his first year, though, according to iphoto. I think that covers things.

I am probably kidding myself but I want to do a 365 of LO. Nothing elaborate like some people on Flickr do, just something to document a piece of her every day. Ultimate goal is to be able to make a book (through Blurb or somesuch) at the end of her first year.
Now, I know myself well enough to know this will probably turn into weekly pictures, but I'm going to go ahead and shoot for the moon here.

This reminded me of something I saw on the news a while back. A father took pictures of his daughter every single day for ten years. It was pretty impressive. Wink

I made signs with DD and she just ended up ripping them up from 8 months on so this time around we'll use Picky Stickys. As pp said, they are stickers, not iron-ons and are really cute.

I think your idea is totally cute! I like the idea of getting a new stuffed animal for DS, but I love to shop so maybe thats just me. If you get a new toy then they can each have their own...

I'm doing the ever-so-popular monthly sticker on the onesie, but if I try to do anything involved or creative, like you're doing, I"ll end up just skipping it and not following through. I bought a chalk board to do weekly pregnancy pics and have week 10, 11, and 13 ha ha!

I didn't do it last time but might this time. I did make a birthday banner with pictures from each month but they were just my favorite pics from each month. I might just do a picture in the rocking chair each month.

Yeah, stickers make more sense than iron on... I feel like I probably already knew that since my sis does them. They are super cute!! I thought about PS'ing them on to make it even easier on myself, but changed my mind. Fingers crossed that I keep up with it! Surprisingly I was great about it with DD. I even did her 12 mos. one in the morning when we woke up on her bday, and had the pics printed and ready for the collagd before her party! Haha, go me. Tried doing weekly bump pics with her holding a sign... yeah that didn't last long at all! She kept running out of the picture/ripping the sign/etc etc. so I gave up!
