1st Trimester

Bras already don't fit......

I have tried every bra I own and am spilling out of them. I am not sure if I should just go buy a bigger bra for a bit or go get a maternity one. I am only 9 weeks and 4 days. I still want to feel attractive and am worried that I will look frumpy if I get a maternity bra now. I don't have anyone to really ask my questions to or to help me since my mom adopted she is clueless and none of my friends have had kids yet so they are no help. lol.

  • I would just buy bras as you grow.  You don't need a nursing bra or maternity bra now, especially because your breasts change right after birth depending if you breastfeed or not.  It's a pain, I know.  There should be a tax deduction for being a pregnant woman for all the expenses.  :)

Yes! I agree. Get one new one (if you are like me, go to the clearance rack cuz it will change in a few weeks). I lucked out and found nursing bras on clearance when I was pregnant with DS. I didn't think that I would be busting out of them when he was born. That was money down the drain.

  • By two new bras..and go up a band size.  Buy one roomy nursing bra right before you are due...you'll need to figure out what size you are after baby is born...the one nursing bra I bought was WAY too small after my milk came in...my mom took me to jcpenny the day after I got home from having dd to get a few that fit better :)

If its any consolation, I was a c before this pregnancy I'm now sporting a dd ugh!!!!!

  • I bought a comfy bra at Target in a cup size and band size bigger, and I've been much more comfortable.  I also bought some stretchy Hanes bras at Wal-Mart that are super comfy and were crazy cheap that I wear if I'm wearing a thicker shirt or just sitting around the house.  Definitely worth the little investment because my old bras are like torture devices now!

  • I was a 38C. I had to buy new bras at 7 weeks (40D) and now at 12 weeks (???) I need bigger bras again. I usually wear halters so I don't have to deal with my bras already not fitting since I haven't made it to the stores yet and then I get weird looks from people at the grocery that think I'm an exhibitionist! Large breasts might be great if you are a model or actress, but for the rest of us they can be fairly impractical. Add to that their rate of growth during pregnancy and I have a feeling this'll make a better memory than an experience!

I agree with PPs, just buy cheap replacements as you go. I went to Burlington Coat Factory and they have 2/$7.99. I got one black and one white. I hope to do the same thing for round two this week.
