Anybody else have Hyperemesis? I'm 16 weeks and still mostly in bed and occasionally throwing up. Seems like its clearing up; I know I'm lucky. How much weight did you lose so far? Were/are you on Zofran?
Thankfully, I've only been to the ER once! And since I'm pretty lonely here, I would love to hear from you guys, if you are able to! ![]()
Oh, and for STM's, did you have it with each child?
Re: Anybody else?
I had a mild form of it. I was vomitting constantly, though, so I'd hate to have a severe form. From conception until week 20, I would vomit at least 5 times a day, but typically many more. If it reached 20+ times, we would go to the hospital in order to make sure the baby was getting enough fluids.
At first I was on Promethazine/Pentazine, and when that didn't help, my doctor placed me on Zofran. I used the dissolvable tablets at first, then the regular pills. My body became used to these really fast, though, so I only had about two weeks where they actually helped at all. I lost somewhere between 6-10 pounds and have since gained about 1.5lbs back.
It has subsided for the most part in the past two weeks or so, but it can start back up again at any point. It really sucks to have; it just completely drains the body. I felt like I spent more time hanging out around my toilet than any other place. But, I just kept remembering that this baby girl was worth whatever pain I had to go through. My husband really helped, too, by always making sure to do whatever he could to make me more comfortable (cold towels, water, etc.). You'll get through it though. Just keep your hed up.
Thanks! Yeah, I'm trying to keep the end in mind!
And I am SO thankful that I'm not vomiting constantly anymore!
You made my day! Thanks!
I'm nearly 22 weeks and I still have it. I have 'good' days where I only throw up a few times, and bad days where I throw up more than 10 times. I've been on the Zofran pump for over 6 weeks, after having tried the oral form and also oral Compazine.
I've lost 30 lbs so far this pregnancy and have been to the ER 3 times for dehydration. I'm also under daily monitoring from home nurse care (by phone). I'm starting to have more 'good' days than bad so I really do hope it's starting to ease up, although I'm in a bad cycle these past 3 days.
I hope you are feeling better soon!
