Our agency is based out of MA but we need to pick an out of state agency to partner with. Where do we begin? Any recommendations for states/agencies to go through? Any recommendations on how to pick the agency or attorney? Our agency will supply us a list but we have the main responsibility of researching and picking.
Any advice is so appreciated!
Re: Out of state agency
I guess I'm confused.
Are you in MA, or are you in another state and working with a MA agency?
Why do you need another agency/attorney?
Does your MA agency give you any recommendations based on your list?
Do you want some ideas on questions to ask agencies/lawyers, or do you want specific places to look at? Do you even know if you could work with an agency I recommended, for example?
We are in MA and our agency is in MA but we will also work with an outside agency in another state at the same time. 75% of domestic adoptions in MA take place out of state. Our agency has supplied us with a list of other agencies to partner with and offered suggestions but the decision for our out of state agency is mainly based on our due diligence.
We met with our social worker last night and began researching the agencies that they recommended, a few in Florida, Texas, and one in Kansas. It's a big decision to make so far away without meeting face to face with the agency. We will call and interview each via phone but would also love any recommendations.
