Just a little sharing for those interested in how a couple newly married ladies are enjoying their journey to parenthood together:
We went to our first OB appointment and met with a really great RN, who happens to have five children, ages 16 to almost 2. Overall, a wonderful appointment!
The little monkey baby obliged our very intense interest by moving a great deal, including lying on his or her back and streeeetching out really long, little legs pushed out straight and arms up high, and then returning to the standard zero-gravity position.
Heartrate was 143, and measuring a couple days ahead, but no big deal. We get to go back in a couple weeks and meet the actual OB. I feel reasonably confident though, since my friend had all three of her babies with this doc. The nurse verified that the doctor delivers at our hospital of choice and everything seems really wonderful.
So, so, so amazing to see the so much movement. As my partner said, "moving like a real baby." We are so happy!

"Things separate from their stories have no meaning. They are only shapes. Of a certain size and color. A certain weight. When their meaning has become lost to us they no longer have even a name. The story on the other hand can never be lost from its place in the world for it is that place.” ― Cormac McCarthy, The Crossing
